The largest shipping alliance in the world, 2M Alliance which comprises Maersk and MSC, has decided to implement several blank sailings from Asia to North Europe.
2M Alliance is planning the following sailing omissions in weeks 39 and 40 aiming to “enhance schedule reliability,” according to MSC’s announcement.
Week | Service | Voyage Number | Port of Loading (POL) | Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) Date |
39 | AE55 / Griffin | QG139W | Shanghai | 26 September |
39 | AE6 / Lion | FL139W | Ningbo | 28 September |
40 | AE6 / Lion | FL140W | Ningbo | 5 October |
40 | AE5 / Albatross | 140W | Dalian | 2 October |
Maersk explained that “the unprecedented situation of severe port congestions globally has resulted in accumulation of delays across several services on Asia to North Europe Network” which are currently causing gaps in the schedules and resulted in several Asia departures been spread apart by more than seven days.
