AD Ports Group commences new Ro-Ro service between UAE and Kuwait

AD Ports Group announced the start of a new Ro-Ro shipping service between United Arab Emirates’ Khalifa Port and Kuwait’s Shuwaikh Port.

The new service seeks to enhance business connectivity and make the trade between UAE and Kuwait more convenient.

The two countries’ long-standing bilateral trade relations have seen rapid development in several important commodity markets in recent years.

According to early data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, non-oil trade exchange between the two nations rose by 13% in 2022 to US$11.8 billion, up from US$10.4 billion in 2021. Furthermore, non-oil exports to Kuwait rose from US$3.4 billion to US$3.8 billion. While re-exports to Kuwait rose from US$5.7 billion to US$ 5.9 billion, imports to the UAE climbed from US$1.3 billion to US$1.9 billion.

The new shipping service between Khalifa Port and Shuwaikh Port is part of AD Ports Group’s attempts to improve regional commerce links and facilitation.
