APL, China customs update

APL:

As a follow up to our previous advisory (dated 31 May 2018) on the changes in regulations to the China Customs Advance Manifest  (CCAM) by the China Customs and per their latest adjustments on the release of Order No. 56 [2017], we would like to remind all customers that in accordance to the most recent update from the China Customs that any instances of non-compliance with the stipulated regulations, cargo will be rejected to discharge/load in China Terminal by the customs authorities.

It is therefore mandatory to now ensure all information are accurately provided in a timely manner and that APL will not be liable for any additional costs that stem from the act of failure to comply.

The below provides an excerpt of the updated regulations as communicated in the earlier advisory for your reference:

For Export Mainland China shipments, shippers are responsible to contact APL appointed vessel agents with the additional manifest requirement starting vessel ETA dated 1st June 2018 onwards.
Additional Manifest Submission Requirements

  • Submission must include an accurate and a total representation of all goods under the Bills of Lading (BL)
  • Submission must be made using a dedicated template – click here, for all shipment including EDI to specific mailbox per below 
  • Export from North Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Philippines), USA, Canada and Latin America countries, please email to GSSCCOQ.CCAM@apl.com
  • Export from all other ports please email to GSSCKL.CCAM@apl.com
  • All information must be submitted no later than 48 hours prior to vessel ETA at Port of Loading (POL)

Note: “Company Code” – code assigned to a registered shipper/consignee for conducting business in their country’s authority – click for reference

Examples of Company Codes:

  • China – USCI (Unified Social Credit Identifier) or OC (Organization Code)
  • United Kingdom – Company Number or VAT Number
  • United States of America – CIK (Central Index Key) or EIN (Employer Identification Number)
