APL Raffles becomes the largest container ship to call India

Mundra Port in Gujarat, run by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), has berthed the 13,892 TEU APL Raffles, the largest container vessel to call an Indian port.

Adani Ports stated that the call of APL Raffles not only endorses the capabilities of the port to handle large container vessels but also reiterates the role of the terminal in boosting trade between India and its key trading partners.

According to APSEZ, the ship has a length of 397.88 metres and a breadth of 51 metres.

APL Raffles has arrived from Middle East, carrying imports from Gulf, Greater China and Southeast Asia. As APL Raffles, flying the Singapore flag, continues its journey to Far East Asia, it has already exchanged close to 4,000 TEU of import, export and transshipment containers while it was docked at the Mundra Port.
