Arkona Allied Container confirms new project for methanol boxship construction

Hamburg-based chartering joint venture Arkona Allied Container (AAC) has confirmed it has initiated the construction of 10 new container vessels under the new “Enviro Feeder” design.

The vessels are expected to have low bunker consumption and will be fitted for 45’Foot Container / Land Power / Methanol ready and/or CO2 capture.

AAC said the “Enviro Feeder” project has been developed in close cooperation with its ordering owners/charterers/SMB Naval Architect and DNV.

“Our close Owners HS Schiffahrt, H.P. Wegener, Reederei Jüngerhans, Reederei Wessels and Visser Shipping have placed the orders for the vessels at two shipyards Jiangsu Dajin Shipyard and Qingdao Yangfan,” said AAC.

“We are convinced that the two yards will be strong partners for our owners and will deliver a high quality product to serve owners and charterers reliably for many years,” added the AAC.

The vessels will be delivered throughout 2025 and 2026.
