Asia box lines enhance intra-Far East/Australasia network

Significant developments from CNC Line, OOCL, Sinokor and Heung A underscore the need for growing connectivity between key ports in Asia, particularly the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia.

CMA CGM-owned CNC Line has recently introduced the Luzon Visayas Mindanao Express (LVMX), an intra-Philippines service aiming to enhance trade between key domestic ports. The service will be operated by a 1,000 TEU vessel that connects the ports of Manila, Cagayan de Oro, and Cebu on a weekly basis.

COSCO’s subsidiary Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has enhanced its KTX3 service with the addition of a second call to Singapore. The service, which connects Japan and Southeast Asia, now follows the route: Tokyo, Nagoya, Yokkaichi, Kobe, Kaohsiung, Shenzhen (Shekou), Singapore, Jakarta, Singapore, Shenzhen (Shekou), Kaohsiung, and back to Tokyo.

Additionally, Sinokor and Heung A have returned their joint service to its original rotation, restoring connections to Vladivostok, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Xiamen and adding a third vessel to the rotation. According to DynaLiners, the itinerary now includes: Busan, Ulsan, Kwangyang, Hong Kong, Hai Phong, Shenzhen (Chiwan), Xiamen, Vladivostok, and back to Busan.

These developments highlight the dynamic nature of Asia’s shipping landscape, as lines continuously adjust services to meet demand and optimize regional connectivity.
