The United Kingdom’s ports group Associated British Ports (ABP) has commenced the rollout of the award-winning Thrive Safety Behavioural Training in the Humber.
Currently, 142 ABP colleagues have completed the course at the Thrive Safety Leadership Centre based in Immingham, with over 500 colleagues planned to take part next year from ABP’s 21 port locations.
Renewable energy provider Ørsted committed US$1.88 million (£1.4 million) funding to create the purpose-built facility in partnership with training specialists Active Training Team (ATT), which works with companies across the UK and Europe including the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project, Siemens, BP, Crossrail, and TfL.
“The Thrive Safety Leadership Centre is here to support the Humber’s burgeoning renewable and maritime sector,” said co-founder director of ATT, Dermot Kerrigan, who went on to add, “We aim to set the benchmark in safety leadership and welcome enquiries from other organisations who share this aspiration.”
“With high-quality production values and industry-leading technology, Thrive is a powerful, immersive experience designed to deliver tangible changes in behaviour, attitudes and outcomes,” commented Kerrigan.
Additionally, Henrik Pedersen, ABP’s CEO, noted “The award-winning Thrive Safety Leadership Centre is an integral part of ABP’s Behavioural Safety programme and our commitment to keeping our colleagues safe.”
Launched in 2020, the Thrive Safety Leadership Centre won both the Energy Institute’s 2021 Health & Safety Award and the Gold Award for Best Training Event at the EVCOM London Live and Film Awards, earlier in November.
