Beibu Gulf Port Group selects CyberLogitec TOS for Qinzhou terminal

South Korean port software specialist CyberLogitec has won an order to supply its container logistics solutions software to China’s Beibu Gulf Port Group (BGPG).

CyberLogitec represents the IT business of Eusu Holdings, which is headed by Hanjin Shipping’s former chairwoman Choi Eun-young.

On 31 May, BGPG had invited bids from interested parties to supply terminal operating software (TOS) to its automated container terminal in Qinzhou in Beibu Gulf. Just over a month later, CyberLogitec was selected.

Phase 1 of the Qinzhou terminal expansion is scheduled to be opened in June 2022, followed by Phase 2 in mid-2023, following delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Qinzhou Port East Channel expansion project aims to make the port a gateway into Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in western China, by adapting to the increasing size of container ships. It is hoped that the expansion of the channel will achieve annual container throughputs of 10 million TEU.

CyberLogitec is known for its TOS software that uses artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and big data.

CyberLogitec’s CEO, Song Young-gyu said that the company had also supplied TOS software to Busan New Container Terminal, South Korea’s first automated container terminal. Since then, CyberLogitec has been discussing similar deals with other automated container terminals in South Korea.
