Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), an integrated maritime solutions provider, has joined the SEA-LNG coalition, bringing its extensive LNG operational experience to the group.
BSM, the world’s largest third-party ship manager of gas carriers, oversees more than 100 gas carriers, including over 50 LNG carriers, and nearly 30 LNG dual-fuel ships. BSM ensures all its vessels meet International Safety Management (ISM) requirements, with no major safety incidents reported.
BSM’s commitment to LNG as a marine fuel includes dedicated training facilities and an LNG Competence Centre offering consultancy services.
“At BSM, we are committed to LNG as a marine fuel. It is a proven, technically mature solution already being used on many ships, offering comprehensively developed supply and bunkering infrastructure. SEA-LNG provides an important network for exchanging ideas and pooling expertise with other stakeholders, jointly advancing LNG-related projects,” stated Nick Topham, Managing Director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Germany.
Peter Keller, Chairman of SEA-LNG, highlighted BSM’s significant contribution to the coalition, noting BSM’s decades of safe LNG operations. Keller also mentioned that LNG, including biomethane and e-methane, provides a pathway to net-zero GHG emissions, making it a viable solution for the future of shipping.
