Bio-Sea system for CMA CGM vessels

French container liner CMA CGM’s new ultra-large container ship ‘Antoine De Saint Exupéry’ features a Bio-Sea ballast water treatment system from BIO-UV Group.

The 400m long, 20,600 teu vessel is one of the largest containerships to be built by Hanjin Heavy Industries’ yard in Subic Bay. BIO-UV installed a 2,000m3//h capacity system ahead of the ship’s christening earlier this month.

The Bio-Sea system, which uses a screen filter and patented UV disinfection technology, will also be installed on nine 22,000 teu containerships under construction for CMA CGM in China.
