The logistics services provider Bolloré Logistics Canada has launched its first fully electric truck for local deliveries in Montreal.
Manufactured by Lion Electric, a manufacturing company of zero-emission vehicles, the truck, which is on the road five days a week, travels 200 km a day and offers a reduction of 60 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2eq) per year.
This number is equivalent to 1,000 growing trees, according to a statement. Hence, the 100% electric truck is projected to meet customer expectations in terms of eco-responsible solutions.
Through this new initiative, Bolloré Logistics Canada also contributes to the company’s goal of reducing its CO2 emissions from transport services delivered to its customers by 30% by 2030 in line with its “Powering Sustainable Logistics” corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.
