Taiwan’s major international ports handled a total of 15,298,285 TEU in 2019, decreasing 0.15% from the previous year’s 15,321,722 TEU, according to statistics compiled by the state’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
Looking at volumes at individual ports, Taichung was the only facility to enjoy a year-on-year improvement. More specifically, Kaohsiung processed 10,428,634 TEU down 0.16%; Taichung, 1,793,966 TEU, up 2.86%; Taipei, 1,620,392 TEU, down 2.39%; and Keelung, 1,455,293 TEU, down 1.14%.
