Boxship on 2M Alliance’s service faces engine issues in Shanghai

Earlier in December, the 5,468 TEU container vessel Tasman, deployed on 2M Alliance’s service called TP18 by Maersk and Lone Star Express by MSC, suffered major engine difficulties, while it was in Shanghai.

“Maersk has informed us that the chartered vessel Tasman, deployed on our Lone Star Express service, suffered main engine issues while she was at Shanghai, China on 6 December 2022,” said in a recent statement MSC.

According to the Swiss/Italian carrier’s announcement on 14 December, the container ship is currently sailing out of Shanghai.

At the time of writing, there are no reports about what caused the engine issues and what is the extent of the damage.
