Broekman Logistics is selling the Dutch Distriport terminal in the Brittanniëhaven to CLdN, a Belgian-Luxembourgish shipping and logistics group owned by the Cigrang family.
Distriport encompasses an area of 220,000m², which includes 630 metres of quay, container transshipment and storage facilities, 50,000m² of covered warehouses, transshipment capabilities for general cargo, high and heavy loads, and a track header with 1.4 kilometres of rail.
This takeover enables CLdN to diversify and further expand its service offerings, according to the statement.
“While Distriport has a clear strategic fit with CLdN’s activities, it is less aligned with Broekman Logistics’ strategic focus as an industrial specialist in Machinery, Industrial, and Chemicals,” explains Rik Pek, CEO of Broekman Logistics. “The Distriport terminal is very dear to us. Nevertheless, we have every confidence that all our 80 coworkers will have a good future at CLdN.”
Broekman Logistics simultaneously announced investments in its Project Services terminal at Rotterdam-Heijplaat, which is being transformed into a quayside location for assembly and technical services for industrial and offshore equipment, as well as heavy machinery.
