Camco Technologies to automate Brazilian terminal

The Brazilian marine terminal and dry port operator Multiterminals has signed an agreement with Camco Technologies for the gate automation of its Rio de Janeiro’s Container Terminal 2 (MultiRio).

The Belgium-based terminal automation solutions provider, Camco Technologies will provide Gate In as well as Gate Out truck Optical Character Recognition (OCR) portal for automated truck, container and trailer registration.

Gate Automation Solution enables terminals to automate the processing and validation of truck and container data, and at the same time obtain hi-res images for condition recording of trucks and cargo, according to a statement.

Truck and light vehicle lanes will be equipped with kiosks, traffic light and barrier, said Camco Technologies in its announcement, while the automated gate solution comes with a gate operating system, all necessary OCR software applications and a service-level agreement for continuous remote support.

Multiterminais operates MultiRio Container Terminal and a specialised vehicle terminal (MultiCar) that operates both light vehicles and trucks.
