Austrian logistics firm cargo-partner has taken active measures to assist local aid efforts as Türkiye continues to recover from the earthquakes that struck the country in early February.
As a first move, the company prepared several vehicles to transport needed goods such as water, food, blankets, and sanitation products to the badly impacted towns of Adana and Antakya.
Within a few days of the earthquake, cargo-partner has sent 14 vehicles loaded with relief supplies, including 20 container houses, 20 disaster tents, electric generators and tools, mattresses and blankets, bottled water, and various consumables.
In search of additional ways to assist, the logistics supplier collaborated with Advantage Austria Türkiye to support the deployment of an Austrian Forces Disaster Relief Unit (AFDRU) contingent to Adana. Military people, engineers, ER doctors, psychologists,
an analysis laboratory and 25 tonnes of materials comprised the group.
Also, cargo-partner established a separate account for staff contributions. To date, cargo-partner has gathered approximately €200,000 in donations.
Additionally, one week after dispatching the first 14 trucks, the company delivered more than 20 additional container houses to different sites in some of the most seriously impacted regions.
Furthermore, cargo-partner arranged for the arrival of a 405 meters tent, which was put up in the port city of Iskenderun in Turkey’s south. The tent now serves as a kitchen and sleeping quarters for people who have lost their residences due to the earthquakes, and it is also used by doctors to provide medical check-ups.
