Cargotec announces new leadership team for Standalone Hiab

Cargotec’s Board of Directors has approved the appointment of a new leadership team, which will comprise the current Hiab Leadership Team members, effective from 1 April 2025.

These appointments are subject to the successful completion of Cargotec’s ongoing transformation project.

The transformation project, initiated by Cargotec in 2023, has progressed in alignment with the objectives set by the Board. As part of this initiative, the Board of Directors has proposed a name change for the company to “Hiab” (Standalone Hiab), which will be presented for approval at the General Meeting of Shareholders on 26 March 2025.

This name change reflects Hiab’s status as the sole remaining business of the group following the planned divestment of the MacGregor business. Once the name change is implemented, Cargotec’s current President and CEO, Casimir Lindholm, along with the existing leadership team, will step down from their roles, marking the successful completion of the company’s transformation.

From 1 April 2025, the new leadership team for Standalone Hiab will include the following individuals:

Scott Phillips: President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mikko Puolakka: Executive Vice President (EVP), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Marcel Boxem: President, Loader Cranes, Heavy and Superheavy (interim), Michaël Bruninx: President, Services, Hermanni Lyyski: President, Demountables and Defence, Barry McGrane: President, Truck Mounted Forklifts, Martin Saint: President, Tail Lifts, Magdalena Wojtowicz-Tokarz: President, Loader Cranes, Light and Medium, Sanna Ahonen: EVP, Business Excellence and Sustainability, Ghita Jansson-Kiuru: EVP, Human Resources, Birgitte Skade: EVP, Marketing and Communications, Taina Tirkkonen: EVP, General Counsel, Scott Phillips: EVP, Business Operations Development (interim)

Cargotec Chair, Ilkka Herlin, commented: “The Leadership Team of standalone Hiab consists of very experienced and knowledgeable industry leaders, who have extensive background in Hiab and its operations. The team has done excellent work over the past years, and I’m confident that the company’s progress and results will further improve going forward.”

The appointments of Scott Phillips as President and CEO of Standalone Hiab, along with Mikko Puolakka as CFO, were previously announced on 27 May 2024.

Ilkka Herlin, Cargotec Chair, explained: “Cargotec’s transformation project, including listing Kalmar as a separate company, preparing Hiab for its standalone future and finding a solution for MacGregor, has progressed according to the plan and targets set by the Board in 2023. This transformation has been a remarkable and very well-managed journey.”
