Carrier Transicold and Net Feasa unveil container telematics solution

Carrier Transicold, in partnership with IoT and wireless technology provider Net Feasa, has introduced IoTPASS—a pioneering telematics solution for dry containers that broadens asset monitoring beyond refrigerated units.

Integrated with the Lynx Fleet platform, IoTPASS enables seamless tracking for both dry and refrigerated containers within a unified ecosystem, expanding Carrier Transicold’s digital solutions to foster more connected intermodal supply chains.

“With IoTPASS, we are transforming the way our customers manage their assets throughout the supply chain. It delivers the same innovation and reliability we’re known for in the refrigerated container space, now optimized for dry containers,” stated Tan Bor Yow, Senior Channel Manager, BluEdge, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold.

Key features of IoTPASS include:

  • 3-in-1 Integrated Device: A compact unit offering Track & Trace functionality, a door sensor for enhanced security, and heat sensors to detect in-container fires, providing real-time cargo safety monitoring.
  • Continuous Connectivity: Operates over cellular networks, with LoRa and satellite fallback options to ensure uninterrupted data flow and alert notifications, even in areas with limited cellular coverage.
  • Quick, Easy Installation: Features a patent-pending snap-spin-secure mechanism, allowing fast installation with just one rivet, which reduces setup time and associated costs.
  • Extended Battery Life: A battery life of over 10 years, supported by solar harvesting capabilities, enables long-term operation with minimal maintenance.

Designed for high-value cargo, IoTPASS offers flexible per-trip pricing and one-way logistics tracking, providing shippers with a cost-effective, on-demand monitoring solution.

IoTPASS is set for global release in Q4 2024 through Carrier’s BluEdge Partners telematics reseller network, enhancing supply chain visibility and operational efficiency.

The dry container telematics market, a rapidly growing segment complementary to refrigerated container telematics where Lynx Fleet has proven effective, stands to benefit significantly from this innovative technology.
