The Swiss cleantech company Cavotec has won two orders from the crane manufacturer Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC), to provide major ports in China and the US with motorised cable reel electrification systems for container cranes.
The total value of the two orders amounts to more than US$1.47 million (1.3€ million), according to a statement.
For the first order, Cavotec will supply motorised cable reel systems for electrification of rail-mounted gantry cranes for a container yard at the Chinese Port of Taicang.
Regarding the second order, it is a repeat order for motorised cable reel systems, for gantry and spreader systems on ship-to-shore container cranes at the Port of Los Angeles.
“These orders demonstrate how Cavotec’s motorised cable reel systems reduce the environmental impact of container handling while optimising efficiency and improving safety,” stated a representative from the cleantech company.
