CCM rolls out 12,000th refurbished chassis to South Atlantic Chassis Pool

Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM) announced the early delivery of its 12,000th refurbished chassis to the South Atlantic Chassis Pool (SACP).

This event marks a significant step in the initial phase of chassis modernization in the region, with plans to completely upgrade the nearly 45,000-unit fleet by the end of 2027.

Paul Nazzaro, CEO of CCM, stated that SACP is positioned to meet the urgent demand for adaptable, efficient supply chain solutions.

The enhanced chassis feature several upgrades that improve motor carrier operations, including anti-lock braking systems for safer driving, LED lighting for better visibility and durability, and radial tires that offer longer wear and lower fuel consumption, leading to safer and more cost-efficient journeys.

Additionally, CCM’s focus on sustainability is evident in its refurbishment strategy, which minimizes the need for new production. The process includes the use of eco-friendly paint for durable finishes with reduced environmental impact, tire retreading which cuts carbon emissions by 70%, and an increased use of radial tires that diminish the frequency of tire changes and cut fuel use by 7-10%.

“CCM is committed to providing exceptional intermodal equipment and fleet management solutions,” said Nazzaro.
