CMA CGM alters FAL 1 and FAL3 services on Asia-North Europe network

CMA CGM has decided to implement changes on its FAL1 and FAL3 services connecting Asia with North Europe aiming to improve operational efficiency.

Effective from the 48th week, the French ocean carrier will suspend FAL 3 service call on Cai Mep port in Vietnam. “We will re-assess the possibility of inserting the call again in 2024 thanks to improved nautical conditions,” said CMA CGM in a statement.

The company noted, “While part of the cargo will continue to be loaded on FAL7 directly calling in Cai Mep, we will also deploy a dedicated feeder between Ho Chi Minh and our hub in Singapore to connect with our seven loops sailing to North Europe and ensure the same service commitment as today.”

At the same time, CMA CGM will switch Morocco’s Tanger call from FAL1 to FAL3, while Le Havre will now become the first port of call on FAL1, followed by Dunkerque.

FAL1 rotation and Westbound transit times will be the following:

Busan (South Korea) – Ningbo (China) – Shanghai (China) – Yantian (China) – Singapore – Le Havre (France) – Dunkerque (France) – Hamburg (Germany) – Gdansk (Poland) – Rotterdam (the Netherlands) – Port Klang (Malaysia) – Busan
