French carrier CMA CGM has announced that an overweight surcharge (OWS) is effective from 19 April 2022 (loading date) from China to Nigeria.
In particular, the new surcharge will apply to dry cargo from all the Chinese ports that are destined for the port of Apapa in Nigeria.
The Marseille-based container shipping company said the overweight surcharge will be US$500 per 20′ container with a container gross weight equal or over 18 tons.
