CMA CGM applies peak season surcharge from North Europe to North America

French ocean carrier CMA CGM announces the implementation of the following peak season surcharge (PSS) effective from 1 March 2025, until further notice.

This surcharge will apply to shipments from all ports in North Europe, including North France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, the Baltic region, and North Spain (Bilbao, Gijon), excluding Portugal. The destinations covered under this surcharge include the US East Coast, the US West Coast, the US Gulf, and all inland destinations reached via these ports.

The surcharge will apply to all cargo except out-of-gauge (OOG). The applicable rates for dry cargo will be US$900 per 20-foot container and US$1,000 per 40-foot, 40-foot high cube, and 45-foot containers. For reefer cargo, the surcharge will be US$1,350 per 20-foot container and US$1,500 per 40-foot and 45-foot containers.

Additionally, the same surcharge conditions will apply to shipments from the same North European ports (excluding Portugal) to the Canada East Coast, the Mexico East Coast, and all inland destinations reached via these ports.

The rates remain the same, with US$900 per 20-foot container and US$1,000 per 40-foot, 40-foot high cube, and 45-foot containers for dry cargo. For reefer cargo, the surcharge will be US$1,350 per 20-foot container and US$1,500 per 40-foot and 45-foot containers.
