CMA CGM applies US$200 overweight surcharge from Asia to North Europe

CMA CGM has announced an update to its Overweight Surcharge (OWS) for shipments from Asia to North Europe.

Effective from 15 September 2024, until further notice, the surcharge applies to cargo transported from North East Asia, South East Asia, China, Hong Kong, and Macau SAR to destinations in North Europe, Scandinavia, Poland, and the Baltic region.

This surcharge is specific to dry cargo loaded in 20-foot containers with a gross weight of 20 tons or more. The surcharge amount has been set at US$200 per container.
