CMA CGM, BigCommerce join forces boost end-to-end e-commerce

The CMA CGM Group, its subsidiary NewOxatis and BigCommerce, the open software as a service (SaaS) e-commerce platform for fast-growing and established brands, will collaborate to enable thousands of NewOxatis’ merchants to build digital storefronts powered by BigCommerce.

Particularly, the partnership will equip merchants of NewOxatis, which is a publisher of e-commerce solutions, with a new online sales channel that is fully integrated with information systems, uses enterprise resource planning (ERP) and product information management (PIM) software, along with customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing tools.

Additionally, it will offer a full e-commerce website design service and digital marketing solutions, such as search engine optimisation (SEO) and advertising with Google Ads to enhance clients’ online presence so they can reach new target audiences and grow their sales.

“Our Open-SaaS platform and world-class shipping and logistics will empower merchants to build, innovate and grow their businesses online,” stated Brent Bellm, chief executive officer at BigCommerce.

Furthermore, the new partnership will enable Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) companies that seek to create or expand their digital storefronts to leverage NewOxatis’ 20 years of expertise for their digitalisation through a scalable, high-functionality platform.

With the “NewOxatis powered by BigCommerce” product, the enterprise partnership provides the publisher of e-commerce solutions, NewOxatis, and his merchants with access to “best-in-breed” technology, preeminent tech, agency partnerships and cross-channel expansion, according to a statement, so they can create a powerful online consumer experience.

“Through this partnership which is fully in line with the CMA CGM Group’s commitment to accelerate innovation and digitalisation, we can develop e-commerce and digital marketing solutions for our clients and also manage the entire logistics chain,” noted Michael Miramond, the chief digital officer of the CMA CGM Group and CEO of NewOxatis.

The start of the Covid-19 pandemic heralded a noteworthy shift to online shopping that has resulted in a significant boom to e-commerce markets in the Eurozone. Therefore, projections for e-commerce sales in Europe alone are expected to total US$541 billion in 2021.

The French Group offering transport and logistics solutions worldwide is accelerating its digital transformation with more innovative, more secure, end-to-end solutions for its customers, by investing in research and development (R&D), and specifically in the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence and blockchain.
