Following the agreement announced in December, CMA CGM has completed the acquisition of most of Ingram Micro’s Commerce & Lifecycle Services (CLS) business, including Shipwire and the CLS activities in North America, Europe, India, and certain countries in Latin America, while activities in Asia-Pacific, Mexico and Costa Rica will close in the near term.
The two companies signed a share and asset purchase agreement in December 2021, according to which CMA CGM will buy the majority of Ingram Micro’s CLS activities for US$3 billion, creating the fourth-largest global provider of contract logistics services.
“This operation enables the CMA CGM Group to strengthen its capabilities in contract logistics and eCommerce, making CEVA Logistics, the logistics subsidiary of CMA CGM, the fourth-largest global player in contract logistics services,” commented the French carrier in a statement.
