CMA CGM introduces new PSS from Middle East Gulf

CMA CGM introduces a new Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from the Middle East Gulf to North Europe (including Scandinavia, Baltic States, and Poland), West Mediterranean, and North Africa.

The new PSS, applicable to dry, OOG, and paying empties cargo types, will take effect from 8 January 2024 (loading date). The surcharge amounts to US$1,000 per 20′ container and US$1,500 per 40′ container.

Furthermore, the French carrier announced another Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) that will apply from the Middle East Gulf to all East Mediterranean ports beginning on 8 January 2024 (loading date). The surcharges will apply to dry, OOG, and paying empties cargo, with a cost of US$1,500 per 20′ and US$2,000 per 40′.

Also, CMA CGM is introducing an additional Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from the Middle East Gulf (excluding Iraq) to Latin America’s East Coast & West Coast, Central America’s East Coast & West Coast, and the Caribbean.

This surcharge, applicable to dry cargo, will be effective from 1 January 2024 (gate-in date) until further notice, with a specific start date of 20 January 2024, for shipments to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The surcharge amounts to US$500 per 20′ container and US$1,000 per 40′ container.
