CMA CGM introduces new rail service in Indonesia

French carrier CMA CGM has announced a new rail service solution for export cargo from Semarang and Surabaya in Indonesia to worldwide destinations via the Jakarta gateway with an intermodal transit time of one day.

The company noted that the new offering, which is expected to commence in February, will provide coverage of Jababeka and Cikarang dry port in less than one day for cargo exports and imports.

The Marseille-headquartered shipping company said in its statement that it is the sole carrier offering rail transport solutions in Indonesia.
