CMA CGM launches new Greece-Serbia train service

CMA CGM has announced it will provide a dedicated new service offering with a greener intermodal solution to serve the district of Niš located in the Southern East part of Serbia.

As of 11 August, the dedicated CMA CGM weekly block-train shuttle Thessaloniki > Niš > Thessaloniki will offer an intermodal transit time of 2.5 days to/from Niš Ramp, according to a company’s statement.

CMA CGM noted that Niš is reached from Shanghai, China in 40 days and from Izmir, Turkey in 7 days, while export cargo from Niš Ramp is bound for Shanghai in 47 days, Mundra, India in 37 days and Damietta, Egypt in 6 days.

The French carrier added that the new solution will halve the carbon footprint on the intermodal part of the service.
