CMA CGM will start a new short sea weekly service called the East Med-Black Sea Express (EMBX) linking Greece, Southern Turkey and the Black Sea regions.
The new service will commence on 4 November 2020 and the rotation will be Mersin, Odessa, Novorossiysk, Ambarli, Piraeus and Mersin.
CMA CGM will deploy two vessels of 900TEU nominal capacity, the boxships Andante and Dina Trader, on the EMBX service. Each boxship has 234 reefer plugs, a company representative told Container News.
The French container line, which recently announced several new services or service updates, described the East Med-Black Sea Express service as “a sustainable option aiming at fostering cold supply chain optimisation during the upcoming Citrus campaign.”
The first call’s estimated time of arrival at Mersin is on 4 November, at Odessa on 8 November and at Novorossiysk on 10 November.
In addition, the Marseille-based carrier has announced it will need four days from Mersin to Odessa and six days from Mersin to Novorossiysk.
