CMA CGM applies overweight surcharge from Med to East Africa

Marseille-based container line CMA CGM will implement an overweight surcharge (OWS) from the Mediterranean to East Africa, effective from 24 January until further notice.

The surcharge applies to dry cargo transported from the West Mediterranean, East Mediterranean and Adriatic region to East African ports.

The charge has been set at US$200 per 20′ dry container with a gross weight of 22 tons or more.
