CMA CGM has strengthened its EURAF 1 service, connecting Europe and the Mediterranean to West African markets.
The updated service will run under the following rotation: Dunkerque – Tilbury – Antwerp – Vlissingen – Dunkerque – Le Havre – Montoir – Tanger – Algeciras – Dakar – Tema – Abidjan – Dakar – Algeciras – Dunkerque
As of mid-October 2020, the enhanced EURAF 1 service will offer a direct call at Tema, Ghana with improved transit times, which translates to a gain of seven days. Tema will be reached in 20 days from Antwerp, 19 from Vlissingen, 21 from Rotterdam, 18 from Dunkerque and 22 from Tilbury.
At the same time, there is a direct service to Northern Europe with Dunkerque being reached in 16 days, Le Havre in 24 days and Antwerp in 19 days.
In addition, inland services to Burkina Faso and Niger are offered through Tema gateway, according to a CMA CGM announcement.
The first vessel to sail under the new rotation is the 2010-built boxship CMA CGM Africa Four with a nominal capacity of 3,650TEU, which is expected to start its journey from Europe today, 14 October.
