CMA CGM’s plastic ban takes effect today

The French carrier CMA CGM will stop using plastic onboard its container vessels, effective from today (1 June 2022).

The reason, according to the company, is that too much plastic waste ends up in the oceans because it is not treated properly at the destination.

It is important to note that in order to ensure the effectiveness of this measure, CMA CGM has decided to ban the code HS 3915 in its booking system.
