Companies in Singapore declaration on emissions research

Six companies including Singapore’s Ocean Network Express (ONE), Sembcorp Marine, Eastern Pacific Shipping and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) have signed a declaration to develop a decarbonisation centre with Australian company BHP and European firm Foundation Det Norske Veritas.

Each of the six companies will contribute S$10 million (US$7.5 million) in a S$120 million (US$90.21 million) fund for a maritime decarbonisation research centre in Singapore to fund maritime -related research and technology development projects for the decarbonisation of the industry and to collaborate with academic institutes.
