COSCO boss visited EUROGATE’s stand

EUROGATE and JWP welcomed an illustrious guest at their joint stand at China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai: Lirong Xu, Chairman of the Board and Party Secretary of COSCO Shipping Group, paid a visit to the EUROGATE exhibition stand. He was particularly interested in information about EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven (CTW), presented by Michael Blach, Chairman of the EUROGATE Group Management Board.

CIIE was held for the first time in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November 2018. An initiative of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government, the aim of the event is to present China as an import market. EUROGATE attended the expo together with Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH (JWP). Some 3,600 companies from 172 countries took this opportunity to present their services offering to buyers from almost all of China’s state-run enterprises. According to official figures, the exhibition was attended by 400,000 buyers also from private and non-Chinese companies.

As part of the supporting activities, Michael Blach and EUROGATE sales representatives took part in the World Shipping Summit. Under the motto “New Pattern of World Trade, New Challenges of Logistics Evolution”, top shipping and logistics executives met for talks with Ministry of Commerce officials.

Concurrently, a business delegation from Lower Saxony led by Agriculture Minister Dr Bernd Althusmann visited a number of Chinese cities. Some members of this group were received by the Vice-President of COSCO Shipping Group, Yu Zenggang. This visit was also attended by EUROGATE representatives.
