COSCO/OOCL ANE service commences with VICT call

The initial call of the newly created ANE service was received by ICTSI’s Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT), which is the first fully automated container terminal in Australia.

The new service, jointly run by COSCO and OOCL, commenced with the arrival of the 1,100-TEU boxship Contship Yen at VICT in Melbourne on 12 May.

The ANE service offers a direct connection between Australia’s southeastern coast and New Zealand, providing coverage up to Bell Bay in Tasmania.

The service has the following port rotation: Melbourne – Bell Bay – Sydney – Auckland – Melbourne.

“VICT looks forward to the opportunities that come with being part of such an important route, as well as a stronger partnership with COSCO Shipping Line and OOCL,” stated Olga Coelho, VICT’s chief commercial officer.
