COSCO SHIPPING launches WSA5 service in Colombia

On 5 February 2025, the inaugural voyage of COSCO SHIPPING Line’s WSA5 service to Port of Buenaventura was celebrated with festivities at the SPRB terminal in Colombia.

The event marked the arrival of COSCO SHIPPING’s vessel, Xin Hong Kong, which delivered 707 TEUs of goods from China, including automobiles, photovoltaics, major appliances, and small commodities, along with well wishes for the Chinese Spring Festival. These imports aim to boost economic and trade cooperation between China, Colombia, and the broader Latin American region.

The launch of the WSA5 route marks a significant milestone in enhancing trade efficiency and convenience between China and Colombia. Offering the fastest delivery times to Shanghai and Qingdao, the route is set to further stimulate bilateral trade and economic growth, said the Chinese shipping giant.

COSCO is also advancing its digital supply chain strategy, providing intelligent and digital logistics solutions to support the expanding China-Colombia trade relationship.

The WSA5 route offers efficient connectivity and broad coverage, linking major Chinese ports with key destinations along the west coast of South America, including ports in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru’s Chancay Port.
