COSCO SHIPPING Ports sees strong start to 2025

COSCO SHIPPING Ports has kicked off the year with a notable 8% year-on-year growth, reaching 9,419,200 TEUs in January.

The company’s terminals in China, particularly in the Yangtze River Delta, performed exceptionally well, with Wuhan’s throughput soaring by 76.8% compared to the same period last year.

Overseas terminals also demonstrated strong performance, achieving a 16.2% year-on-year growth. Key overseas facilities, such as Piraeus Container Terminal in Greece, CSP Spain, and Belgium’s CSP Zeebrugge Terminal, saw substantial volume increases of 25.4%, 22.2%, and 135.3% respectively.

Additionally, the Peru Chancay Terminal, which commenced trial operations in December 2024, began contributing to the Chinese operator’s total throughput figures.
