Crane falls onto bulk carrier in Türkiye

Following a floating dock accident that resulted in one crane falling on the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier Osprey S, a ship repair yard in Türkiye has been out of operation.

The incident occurred at the Çındemir Shipyard in Tuzla, while the 30,600 dwt ship was undergoing repair work.

According to Maritime Bulletin, the dock tilted for an unclear reason, with the crane landing on the ship and causing damage. Hopefully, there have been no reported injuries at the time of writing. Furthermore, there was no appeal for help to the Directorate General of Coastal Safety from either the shipyard or the ship’s manager.
