Dalian bans reefer imports

Port of Dalian does not accept import reefer cargo due to another Covid-19 outbreak in China.

There is a customs restriction for import reefer cargo to Dalian, concerning frozen meat and seafood products, according to Hapag-Lloyd’s announcement.

The German carrier has told its customers to divert their reefer containers to Qingdao, Tianjin and other ports in China, return the reefer container to its origin port.

However, Hapag-Lloyd noted it reserves the right to make the necessary arrangements in case they do not receive any instructions from its customers.

All options, all additional costs, risks and liabilities related to the storage or movement of the cargo after discharge will be for the account of the cargo owner, according to the Hamburg-based carrier.
