DP World Australia to automate berth scheduling through Portchain Connect

Two years after implementing Portchain Connect, DP World’s four Australian terminals in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Fremantle continue advancing their efforts to streamline berth alignment processes with shipping lines.

Portchain has announced a successful integration with these terminals, now automatically updating berth schedules and facilitating smooth alignment with carrier customers.

Through Portchain Connect, the Australian terminals benefit from enhanced efficiency and accuracy in berth alignment via digital handshakes and secure data sharing.

Thor Thorup, CCO & Co-Founder of Portchain Connect, mentioned: “We are excited to continue to work with DP World and help them drive efficiencies in their berth alignment process by facilitating streamlined data exchange with their shipping line customers. As our first customer in Oceania, their close collaboration and valuable feedback have been instrumental in our continuous efforts to enhance Portchain Connect.”

By leveraging Portchain Connect, DP World terminals receive real-time updates on schedules and move counts directly from carrier systems, enabling swift responses and counter-proposals to align vessel schedules with terminal berth plans.
