DP World has entered into a partnership agreement with Masdar, a renowned clean energy company based in Abu Dhabi, to introduce renewable energy systems across its port operations in the Middle East and Africa.
The objective of this agreement is to promote the widespread adoption of renewable energy and battery energy storage systems (BESS) within DP World’s global supply chain.
For three years, DP World and Masdar will collaborate to identify suitable locations for the potential installation of solar and energy storage systems, focusing initially on Saudi Arabia, Senegal, and Egypt.
Through this partnership, DP World aims to expedite the integration of renewable energy solutions into its supply chain by leveraging expertise and addressing regulatory challenges, particularly in emerging economies.
Masdar stands as the UAE’s foremost advocate for clean energy and ranks among the world’s rapidly expanding renewable energy enterprises. It spearheads the advancement and implementation of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies, playing a pivotal role in tackling global sustainability issues.
Meanwhile, DP World, a leading provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions, remains committed to collaborating with the COP28 Presidency to promote accelerated climate action. This commitment entails utilizing DP World’s extensive reach and influence across 75 nations globally to unite the broader industry in crafting effective, sustainable solutions that align with the global climate agenda.
