DP World Logistics takes delivery of three 40-tonne E-trucks

DP World Logistics has received three 40-tonne E-trucks and became one of the first firms in Germany to provide zero-emission door delivery using such heavy-duty E-trucks.

In this way, DP World Logistics said it can meet customers’ increasing demand for sustainable logistics solutions.

The DP World E-trucks will be powered by renewable electricity and will have a range of up to 400 kilometres.

“They are ideally suited for emission-free and low-noise deliveries in and around the regions of Baden Württemberg and Rheinland Pfalz but will initially be deployed in the Stuttgart and Black Forrest areas,” said DP World Logistics in a statement.

DP World aims to reduce carbon emissions from its activities by roughly 700,000 tonnes over the next five years including the usage of E-trucks. Through electrifying assets, investing in renewable energy, and researching alternate fuels, the decrease represents a 20% drop from 2021 levels.

In a long term, DP World wants to be a carbon-neutral company by 2040, with a defined plan to reach net zero carbon emissions throughout its entire global network by 2050.
