Germany’s Duisburg Gateway Terminal, the largest inland terminal in Europe, officially commenced operations on 16 September.
DGT, a joint venture between Hupac Group, HTS INTERMODAAL HRM, duisport – Duisburger Hafen AG and PSA, is the first 100% climate-neutral inland facility.
Strategically located at the Port of Duisburg, DGT is the first inland container terminal to operate with 100% climate-neutral status, powered by renewable energy and hydrogen technologies.
The German terminal is expected to offer connections to major ports, including Antwerp and Rotterdam, while is scheduled to have 850,000 TEU capacity by 2025.
