Emirates Shipping Line to commence Far East Africa Express service

Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) announced the launch of the Far East Africa Express (FAX) service connecting major ports in China with Mombasa in Kenya and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

The weekly FAX service will be operated by vessels ranging from 2,500 to 3,000 TEUs and is expected to provide fast transit times from North, Central and South China and Southeast Asia via Port Klang to East Africa.

“The FAX service will ensure connectivity to inland delivery locations in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda (via the Mombasa gateway) and Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, The Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia (via the Dar es Salaam gateway),” said ESL in a statement.

The maiden voyage will commence from the port of Qingdao on 5 November 2023.

The rotation of the FAX service will be Qingdao (China) – Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Nansha (China) – Port Klang (Malaysia) – Mombasa (Kenyha) – Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) – Port Klang
