Energie 360°, based in Zurich, Switzerland intends to deliver 100% renewable energy to its clientele by 2040. Likewise, Tree Energy Solutions (TES), a worldwide green hydrogen business, has a goal of achieving net-zero emissions by decarbonising the energy supply chain.
Both businesses want to help each other achieve their goals: From 2027, TES intends to provide Energie 360° with approximately one terawatt hour (TWh) of eNG (renewable synthetic methane). In exchange, Energie 360° plans to supply TES with renewable CO2, according to a letter of intent the two companies have inked.
TES said its primary aim is to hasten the energy shift by providing its clients with sustainable synthetic methane (eNG) using existing global energy infrastructure. This is created by fusing green hydrogen and CO2.
Furthermore, TES intends to furnish Energie 360° with eNG generated in areas with abundant renewable energy. In exchange, Energie 360° wishes to offer renewable CO2, such as that produced by its own power facilities. This generates and keeps a closed circular loop.
“In the future, there will still be industrial companies that need gas – especially for special high-temperature applications – but we want to offer this gas completely from renewable sources,” stated Jörg Wild, CEO of Energie 360°.
