Eudmarco expands fleet at Port of Santos with Konecranes reach stackers

Eudmarco S/A Serviços e Comércio Internacional has expanded its fleet at the Port of Santos terminal in Brazil with the addition of two customized Konecranes reach stackers.

The Konecranes SMV 4638 TC6H and Konecranes Liftace 4532 TC5 were ordered in early 2024 and delivered in November of the same year.

Equipped with advanced driveline and transmission technology, both reach stackers offer up to 10% fuel savings compared to older models. They feature load-sensing pumps and an automatic acceleration function for hydraulic movements, reducing engine revving and lowering carbon emissions. Additionally, the Eco mode enhances fuel efficiency while extending equipment longevity.

Built on the same chassis as the popular Konecranes SMV 4632 TC6 model, the new reach stackers include power-damping capability, allowing operators to lock the tilt of the spreader. This feature proves especially useful when working on uneven ground or loading containers onto trains.

The Konecranes SMV 4638 TC6H enables Eudmarco’s operators to stack up to six 9’6’’ containers in the first row and five in the second, significantly boosting capacity and efficiency at the terminal. To enhance stability and safety, this model is also equipped with larger 18.33 tyres.

“We appreciate the quality of Konecranes equipment and the support provided by the company, so we decided to take this next step together. We’re very happy to make our operations more eco-efficient with Konecrane’s new fuel-saving technology,” commented José Wenes, Administrative Manager from Eudmarco’s parent company, ABA Infraestrutura e Logística.

The reach stackers are also equipped with the Konecranes TRUCONNECT® telematics solution, allowing Eudmarco to remotely monitor their performance via the yourKONECRANES.com customer portal and the Konecranes CheckApp for inspections. This provides the company with real-time, comprehensive insights into equipment operations, management, and maintenance.

“We are very pleased that Eudmarco is taking Konecrane’s advanced features and digital tools into use. The powerful technology package we’ve customized for the Port of Santos terminal will enable higher productivity and efficiency, with lower fuel consumption and fewer emissions,” stated Andres Ramirez, Sales Manager, Lift Trucks Konecranes.
