European lines apply fresh rates in June

French carrier CMA CGM and Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd have announced new rates from Asia, effective from 1 June 2020.

CMA CGM has implemented a general rate restoration (GRR) from Asia, including China, Taiwan, South Korea, South East Asia, East Coast of India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka (Japan excluded) to all ports of Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique. The GRR will be US$200/TEU for all cargo dry, reefer, out of guage and breakbulk cargo.

In addition Hapag-Lloyd will increase its rates for all cargoes and all container types from East Asia to South America East Coast, charging US$600 per container.

The German liner company will also increase rates for all cargo and container types ex-Arabian Gulf and Saudi Arabia to West Africa (excluding Dakar, Senegal) to US$75/TEU, from 1 June.
