Extended stevedore strike in Portugal

The Portuguese stevedores Union announced an extension of the present strike, which is in place since August 13, 2018 mainly effecting Lisbon and Setubal. The strike will be effective until January 1, 2019. The strike covers work performed in extra hours, weekends and holidays.

Work will be carried out as follows:

  • Monday to Friday, 1st and 2nd shift and stops for 3rd shifts, weekends and holidays;
  • The working shifts are 08:00-17:00 and 17:00-24:00;
  • Each shift requires a new gang and no extra work is allowed.
