Feeder suffers pirate attack in Gulf of Guinea

A container ship suffered an armed attack whilst underway approximately 45nm West Southwest of Brass, Nigeria, on the morning of 21 January reports the Maritime Bulletin.

The boxship was under way in the Gulf of Guinea, when the vessel was approached by a group of pirates, but it was confirmed that the vessel had an onboard security team, who returned fire, according to reports. As a result, the pirates aborted their attack.

The latest update says that it is believed that the container vessel under attack was MSC Grace.
